If you have been following The Weekend Project then you know we laid wood floors throughout our house. When I saw we, I mean my amazing husband did it! It turned out better than I could have ever imagined, and we saved a ton of money by doing it ourselves. It has been such a crazy couple months, and we still haven’t fully recovered from all the chaos. Construction dust gets everywhere, and everything still seems out of place. The kids are now staying up later than ever, but we are slowly getting the house back in order. An unintended consequence of three and a half month home renovation project is your routines are completely wrecked!
Life Goals Right Now in Our House
- Get the kids to bed by 8:45
- Cook at home and eat dinner by 6:30
- Clean the house room by room from top to bottom
- Exercise (more of a pipe dream)
- Watch one episode of Scandal a night (we just started watching on Netflix! I have no idea why we waited so long)
Despite all the craziness the floors turned out great, so I thought I would share a few pictures of the finished project. Here are just a few of the rooms that we did.
When we took everything out of the master bedroom to do the floors we decided to paint. I couldn’t be happier with the color we chose. We tried a lot of different shades of Greige before we found just the right one. If you want to see the details on that check out this post.
All the chaos and mess was totally worth it! There are still a lot of projects we want to do, so keep your eyes out for new additions to The Weekend Project. We are thinking the next project will be much smaller and confined to one room to avoid overwhelming the entire house. If you have done projects like this give me your best tips for staying on your routines while surrounded by complete chaos.
