Back in April I wrote a post about the commitments to my family as a working mom. I kept all the plates spinning for most of the spring and early summer by limiting travel at work and staying up later. We even took a killer road trip to Utah! As summer wore on things started slipping. I celebrated my one year anniversary blogging with no fanfare at all. I mentioned it to my husband and he said “awesome”. That was the extent of my celebration. Then my son, Hayden, started kindergarten, and I started several blog posts about that I never completed. It was a sad, but exciting time for all of us. He transitioned into big kid school like a rock star! In September, Hayden turned six, and I found myself at Target on a Thursday night figuring out a theme and buying decorations for a Saturday party I luckily had invited his friends to a couple of weeks before. It was a dino themed party (even though he said after I bought everything that he wanted Mickey), and it turned out amazing! Thank you Pinterest!
October has passed in a blur with a total of six work travel nights. That’s six nights my husband had to put both kids to bed, six days of lunches he had to pack, and countless other chores he took on. Including solo grocery trips, soccer practices, and all those dinners. We barely even took the time to celebrate our 11 year anniversary, but I’m still completely thankful for our anniversary night in watching scandal and eating take out. I seriously hit the jackpot when I married him!
Despite how busy I have been these last few months have been so memorable. As we head toward the holiday season I plan on being more active on the blog. For now, I am sharing some fun pictures from our summer and early fall.
I hope you had an amazing summer and start to your fall. I am here in Florida dreaming of fall weather and hoping this busy season of my life is ending, and I can take the time to enjoy my family this coming holiday season. I’m planning on being back with you regularly throughout the fall and winter. I can’t wait to share some of our fun holiday traditions, and some of the home projects we have planned!
