Christmas Eve is a time to be with family and enjoy the sweet magic of the season. Nothing is sweeter or more magical than reading The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. I can remember every year as a child reading this with my parents and grandparents. Memories of reading these books with family have really stuck with me throughout the years. Now, as a mother with kids of my own, I can’t help but wonder if my parents were as excited as I am to share this timeless tradition with my kids. If your kids are anything like mine, one book just won’t do. They want #allthebooks until they can’t keep their eyes open. Today, I am sharing five more books you can read with your kids on Christmas Eve and extend those sweet moments just a little longer.
Five Books to Read on Christmas Eve With Your Kids
How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss
A Christmas classic. My kids just love this one! You can use your best Grinch voice to narrate, and your heart will grow three sizes!
The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
Even if you have seen the movie the book is crazy magical. I bought this for my kids this year.
Pete the Cat Saves Christmas by James Dean
It’s The Night Before Christmas Pete the Cat style. You know you love Pete the Cat!
Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson
Love love love this sweet book about a bear staying up for Christmas and he ends up learning a great lesson.
The Christmas Story by Robert Sabuda
The original Christmas Story telling the of the birth of baby Jesus. A traditional Christmas book with gorgeous pop-ups.
I love the holiday season so much. As we head into Christmas week I am really looking forward to the magical moments to come. I can’t wait to read some of these books to my kids on Christmas Eve! I’d love to hear your picks for Christmas Eve reading with your kids.
