I love the blanket scarf trend. I loved it last year, but I was hesitant to try it. Figuring out what to do with all that fabric can be intimidating. A blanket scarf is so perfect for fall, and well into winter here in Florida. We may not get to take our winter coats out until January, but we love our scarves. We wear them with flip flops, boots with the fur (just made you sing), and even with shorts! I wore one all over the place on our road trip. It’s the perfect accessory to keep the chill away and still look super on trend.
When I first got it I wasn’t really sure what to do with it, so after some experimenting on myself and my gorgeous niece, pictured here, we found four perfect ways to style this hot fall trend.
Four Ways to Style Your Blanket Scarf
One of the simplest ways to wear the blanket scarf is like a bandana. A really big bandana. To get this look fold it in half diagonally and drape it over your shoulders. We just did a quick knot in the back, but you could also bring the ends back around and tuck them under. Pulled over both shoulders it creates a cozy look perfect for a chillier day.
Take this same look and loosen it up a bit by pulling the ends back around front and pulling the scarf off the shoulders. I really love this look. This is how I wear mine most of the time.
This is a great look for the “Florida winter” days when all of your friends are posting cozy fall pictures and you want to get in on the game without being too warm. Take the scarf and twist it from end to end. Drape it around your neck, and then loop the ends to the back and tuck them under.
Finally, try the shawl look. Be stylish and stay warm without putting on a jacket. This is a great way to wear your blanket scarf without putting a ton of thought into twisting or tying it.
